(ECNS)-- On Thursday, the high-altitude brain-computer interface clinical application center at Lhasa People's Hospital, Xizang Autonomous Region, was officially inaugurated. As the first brain-computer interface clinical application center in Xizang, it marks that neurorehabilitation diagnosis and treatment in Xizang has entered a new stage featuring cutting-edge technologies.
It is learned that Lhasa People's Hospital launched Xizang’s first standardized brain-computer interface consultation and assessment clinic as early as June 22. The newly established Center integrates multidisciplinary resources including neurology, neurosurgery, rehabilitation medicine and medical imaging, and has built an integrated service system covering screening, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. The Center adopts non-invasive brain-computer interface technology without the need for surgical electrode implantation. It provides personalized rehabilitation programs mainly for patients suffering from limb dysfunction caused by stroke, traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury, and targets difficult limb function recovery cases that cannot be effectively addressed by conventional treatment methods.
