Police nabbed a criminal suspect at a concert in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, on Sunday, thanks to a high-tech facial recognition system.

It was the third time in two months that a fugitive has been caught at a concert of Jacky Cheung, a well-known Hong Kong singer.

According to Qianjiang Evening News, the suspect, surnamed Yu, from Shandong province, was wanted by police in connection with an economic dispute. He agreed to buy two loads of tomatoes in 2015 but paid nothing and left, they said.

Later, he opened a hostel in Jiaxing in the name of his brother.

On Sunday, Yu went to the Jiaxing sports center to watch the concert. Surveillance video showed that he went through the security check at about 20:30 pm.

"Several minutes later, our system gave out a warning, saying that the man was a wanted suspect," Shen Yueguang, an official of Jiaxing police's branch in Nanhu district, told the newspaper.

The police and security guards launched an immediate search for Yu at the concert. Because of the crowds and dim lights, they decided to keep watch at the entrance to the western stands, so as to avoid drawing the suspect's attention.

When the concert was over, Yu was caught leaving the stadium.

In early April, a 31-year-old suspect surnamed Ao was nabbed by police in Nanchang, Jiangxi province, at a Jacky Cheung concert, thanks to a facial recognition system set up at the stadium's entrance.

The system was connected to the police database and could identify people rapidly.

In early May, another suspect, surnamed Liu, was caught in Ganzhou, Jiangxi province, while attending a Jacky Cheung concert held in the city, according to Jiangxi Metropolis Daily.
