Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Monday that China has informed relevant countries’ embassies in China of the procedures for DNA information collection from relatives of the missing foreign nationals.

Once the remains of any foreign national are found and after the identity is confirmed, the relevant embassy will be contacted to communicate follow-up arrangements.

The Xizang Autonomous Region authorities have opened a hotline for families of the missing foreign nationals and will provide them with timely assistance, the spokesperson added.
