(ECNS)--Citizens rushed for giant slices of watermelon in a square of Henan province Tuesday. It's part of an ancient food tradition called Ken Qiu, used to mark the beginning of autumn each year. Ken Qiu, meaning 'biting into autumn', involves eating summer fruits like watermelon and peaches before they go out of season. The date always falls on August 7 or 8.
