U.S. journalist debunks 'China squeeze' narrative: China's 1.4 billion consumers present wonderful opportunity for global companies

The so-called "China Squeeze" narrative from the West claims that the comprehensive rise of China's manufacturing sector is crowding out the industrialization space of Global South countries.

U.S. journalist Jason Smith refuted this argument in the latest News Lounge of China News Network.

Based on his observations at trade fairs in China, where exhibitors from developing countries in Africa and South America are a common sight, Smith said that these exhibitors come to China to "make real deals."

He cited China's zero-tariff treatment to the vast majority of African countries as an example, noting that it has granted these countries access to China's huge market.

"Trade between China and other developing countries is allowing those countries to export and increase the value of their products," he said. (By Wang Gaofei and Wu Xinru)
