(ECNS) -- A container freight train loaded with footwear, home appliances, and daily necessities departed from Mudanjiang in Heilongjiang province on Tuesday bound for Moscow, marking the official launch of the Mudanjiang-Moscow freight rail service.
Exiting China via the Suifenhe border port, the inaugural train leverages efficient customs clearance to establish a direct cross-border logistics route connecting Mudanjiang with Moscow.

Mudanjiang, located in the Northeast Asian economic circle, has leveraged its border position to strengthen cross-border manufacturing, agricultural processing and supply chain services.
The new service is expected to reduce logistics costs, stabilize supply chains and boost industries including timber, agricultural processing and biomedicine.
