China builds more than 2,500 km of trunk oil and gas pipelines in 2026

(ECNS) -- China has built more than 2,500 kilometers of new trunk oil and gas pipelines this year, bringing the total length of its national trunk pipeline network to 112,900 km, official data show.

The interconnected, efficient network now spans 30 provincial-level regions and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Key infrastructure, including the recently commissioned Lian-Huai section of the Lianyungang-Yizheng crude oil pipeline in Jiangsu Province, has significantly strengthened energy security along the Yangtze River.

Meanwhile, pipeline networks are being extended to counties and local communities to strengthen the “last mile” of energy delivery, benefiting tens of thousands of households across Fujian, Guizhou, and other regions.

Under national plans, China will add another 20,000 km of long-distance pipelines by 2030, bringing the total length of its long-distance oil and gas pipeline network to 220,000 km.
