Ningbo's European beer imports top 100 million yuan in first eight months

(ECNS) -- Ningbo Port in east China's Zhejiang Province imported 107 million yuan ($15 million) worth of beer from Europe in the first eight months of 2026, up 3.5% year on year, according to Ningbo Customs on Monday.

The imports came from major European beer-producing countries, including Germany, France and Belgium, with an increasingly diverse range of products.

With the support of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, Ningbo Port has become an important gateway for European beer entering East China and reaching markets nationwide.

A customs declaration officer at a local freight forwarding company said the company processed import declarations for more than 900,000 yuan worth of European beer in the first eight months of this year and plans to expand its declaration services to other imported products.

Ningbo Customs has streamlined customs clearance and optimized inspection procedures for imported food, while strengthening compliance guidance to help ensure product quality and safety.
