China claims 2 golds, 1 silver, 2 bronzes at World Climbing Series in Chongqing

(ECNS) -- China won two golds, one silver and two bronzes at the 2026 World Climbing Series in Chongqing, which concluded on Sunday. 

Zhang Shaoqin took silver in the women's speed event, while Zhao Yicheng won bronze in the men's speed event.

China also claimed gold in the mixed speed relay through Ling Yongzhi and Mou Yuju, and in the women's speed relay through Zhang Shaoqin and Fan Jingyue. Long Jinbao and Huang Jingjie took bronze in the men's speed relay.

The Chongqing event was one of 13 stops on the 2026 World Climbing Series and the final stop in China this season.

The three-day event brought together nearly 100 top climbers from more than 20 countries and regions, who competed in men's and women's speed, men's and women's speed relay, and mixed speed relay.

On Sunday afternoon, top Chinese climbers visited a primary school in Chongqing, where they interacted with students at the school's climbing wall as part of a competition outreach activity.
