(ECNS) -- The inaugural Middle School Students' Humanoid Robot Soccer Carnival just kicked off on Thursday in Nanning, capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, bringing together more than 40 students from 10 middle schools for an AI-powered soccer competition.

Held alongside the 23rd China-ASEAN Expo, the event features 3-vs-3 fully autonomous AI soccer matches, with all teams using Booster K1 humanoid robots.

The carnival combines humanoid robot soccer competitions with science activities, interactive demonstrations, China-ASEAN exchanges and parent-child activities.

According to the organizers, it is the largest and highest-level humanoid robot soccer event for middle school students held in Guangxi to date.

The 23rd China-ASEAN Expo is being held in Nanning from Sept. 17 to 21 under the theme "CAFTA 3.0 Opportunities, Better Life." The South A Community Exhibition Area, one of three exhibition areas at this year's expo, focuses on showcasing artificial intelligence and promoting related exchanges.
