U.S. Department of State said in a statement on Tuesday that it has identified Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Husain Ali Hazzima, a Hezbollah operative, as Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs).

BLA is an armed separatist group that targets security forces and civilians, mainly in ethnic Baloch areas of Pakistan, according to the statement.

A faction of BLA has claimed responsibility for the attack at a hotel in Gwadar, Pakistan in May and said the target was Chinese and other foreign investors staying at the hotel.

The statement said Husain Ali Hazzima is the chief of Hezbollah Unit 200, which is the intelligence unit of Hezbollah.

The statement also noted that the Department of State had amended the terrorist designations of Jundallah, a Sunni militant group, to reflect the group's new primary name Jaish al-Adl and associated aliases.

The group has engaged in numerous attacks that have killed scores of Iranian civilians and government officials, according to the statement.

The statement said that the latest moves seek to deny Hazzima, BLA, and Jaish al-Adl the resources to plan and carry out terrorist attacks. All of their property and interests in property subject to U.S. jurisdiction are blocked, and U.S. persons are generally prohibited from engaging in any transactions with them. Enditem
