The southern Chinese city of Guangzhou has initiated the "5 Plans &1 Service Platform" for young students, employers and entrepreneurs from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
Authorities plan to offer at least 2,000 internships and 3,000 jobs each year along with living subsidies.
The local government aims to further implement the development plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, providing optimal urban living and working conditions to young talent coming to the area.
The "5 Plans" cover tourism, education, employment, entrepreneurship and livelihood, while the "1 Service Platform" is dedicated to establishing a comprehensive service system which can provide exchange programs, legal consultants and charity support to young talents.
According to Joe Yip, an entrepreneur from Hong Kong, the incubators and youth apartments are two major aspects attracting him and more people to work and study in Guangzhou.
More than 1,000 youth apartments will be provided for young entrepreneurs like Joe in Guangzhou. To help entrepreneurs from Hong Kong better understand the business environment and policies on the Chinese mainland, Guangzhou initiated the Hong Kong Macao Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Service Center, offering consultation and connection services for young business people.
The proposal of lower business taxes are another driving force, especially for young entrepreneurs.
