China launches direct flights between Shanghai and Tbilisi

(ECNS) -- China Eastern Airlines on Wednesday launched a direct air route between Shanghai and Tbilisi, with the inaugural flight landing in the capital city of Georgia later that day.

The new route is operated by an Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft and offers three round-trip flights per week, operating on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The service is expected to strengthen air connectivity and facilitate travel and economic exchanges between China and Georgia.
