Kunming (CNS) -- Traditional Chinese medicine maker Yunnan Baiyao, whose medicines have been ordered off shelves in Hong Kong, says its products continue to be sold on the mainland.
The head of the company’s marketing department said on Thursday that all of their medicines were selling “very well” here.
Reporters found the medicine still available in pharmacies across Kunming, and were told that sales had not been affected.
The Department of Health in Hong Kong recalled five kinds of medicine produced by the company on Tuesday, citing "undeclared aconitum alkaloids."
Yunnan Baiyao responded on Wednesday, saying on its website that the effectiveness and safety of its medicines are unquestionable, and that the toxicity of aconitum alkaloids is greatly reduced after special processing.
