China consistently opposes to politicization of science, technology and trade issues: spokesperson

(ECNS) -- China has consistently opposed the overstretching of the national security concept and the politicization of science, technology and trade issues, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Tuesday.

Mao made the remarks at a regular press conference in response to reports that the U.S. government has ordered its agencies to remove AI tools and services developed by Chinese firms, including DeepSeek.

China will firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises, the spokesperson said.
