(ECNS) -- The Chinese Foreign Ministry and its diplomatic missions in France have renewed their safety advisory for Chinese nationals planning to travel to the country following large-scale demonstrations and violent clashes in several French cities.
Mass protests have recently erupted in dozens of major and medium-sized cities across France, including Paris, Marseille and Lyon, with some protests turning violent and clashes breaking out between demonstrators and police, according to a notice posted on their official WeChat account.
The ministry and the Chinese Embassy and Consulates in France are urging Chinese citizens planning to visit the country to remain vigilant, closely monitor local developments and take necessary safety precautions.
In the event of an emergency, Chinese nationals are advised to contact local police promptly and seek assistance from Chinese diplomatic missions in France, the notice said.
