China urges Philippines to rein in irresponsible words, deeds of certain politicians

(ECNS) -- China urges the Philippines to effectively rein in the irresponsible words and deeds of certain politicians, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said on Monday.

Improving and developing relations between China and the Philippines serves the common interests of both sides, said spokesperson Mao Ning at a regular news conference.

"At the same time, we firmly oppose certain individuals on the Philippine side maliciously hyping up China-related issues and undermining China-Philippines relations," she said.
