(ECNS) -- Fortune Global Forum 2026 opened in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province on Wednesday, themed "The New Growth Equation."
The forum opened with a dialogue among chief economists on the global economic landscape and market changes.
This year's Fortune Global 500 list showed the combined revenue of the listed companies hit a record high of $43.1 trillion, with net profits reaching $3.39 trillion.
The technology sector led the 20 industries on the roster with around 21% revenue growth. Amazon claimed the top spot for the first time, while Nvidia jumped to No.28 from No.222 when it first made the list in 2024.
Alyson Shontell, Fortune's editor-in-chief and chief content officer, said the list serves as a valuable window into shifts of the times through corporations.
In-depth exchanges also covered the energy transition, life sciences, strategic industries, consumption power of younger generations, as well as service entrepreneurs and researchers.
