(ECNS) -- Zhi Dao, known as the oldest highway in China, was built by Emperor Qin Shihuang about 2,200 years ago.
With a total length of about 900 kilometers, Zhi Dao links Shaanxi Province with Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in China.
Zhi Dao, in particular, was straight and smooth, playing a leading role in transportation and military defence during the Qin Dynasty (BC 221-BC 207). Its artery was so wide that twelve trucks could drive side by side, according to history record.
