(ECNS)-- Qixi Festival, known as Chinese Valentine's Day, falls on Aug. 7 this year. People across the country celebrate a day of romance with their beloved ones.

In Luoyang, Henan Province, 38 couples celebrated their gold marriage anniversary together. "I married my wife in 1952. We were both in old clothes when getting married and there was no wedding," said Ji Zhanqiang, an event participant.

For those who seek an evening of both romance and knowledge, Capital Museum in Beijing has extended its closing hours. Relics that are relevant to the theme are on display in a special exhibition. Some also want to turn the day into a future anniversary.

Marriage registration services often experience a surge in reception on Qixi and similar occasions. Now, in Chongqing and another four cities, newlyweds can get an e-certificate after registration, which will save the trouble of carrying a paper certificate when needed in other civil services.
