A strong tremor was felt in Zunyi City Monday night when a 6.0-magtitude quake hit nearby Changning County of Sichuan Province.
Gu Xinyao went back to her dorm’s floor even though she had gone out on the alarm.
She asked schoolmates standing in the hallway not to panic and directed them outside the building.
The fifth floor houses around 140 students and all evacuated to the safe place within 40 seconds thanks to her efforts.
