An exhibition in Taiwan, with many robotic brands present, has drawn public attention to smart products.

The Taipei International Industrial Automation Exhibition began Wednesday at the Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei. More than 800 exhibitors are participating in the show, with many from the smart manufacturing industry. The exhibition area is the size of 5.5 football pitches.

Many famous brands in the robotics industry have a presence at the exhibition, including ABB and KUKA.

"Our product can precisely identify defective pills," said Hsu Nuo-jen, a staff member at the booth for Visionatics Inc. The company was showing several robotic arms installed with sensors, which can help to detect faulty products.

More than 30 seminars as well as new product release conferences will be held during the event, which is set to conclude on Saturday. Visitors will also have the opportunity to interact with the latest robotics technology.
