Hong Kong tycoon Li Ka-shing called all anger to stop in an advertisement with the message "Stop anger by the name of love."

The advert was published on Friday by some newspapers in China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, including Ta Kung Pao, Wen Wei Po, and Hong Kong Commercial Daily.

In the advertisement published in the name of "a Hong Kong resident," Li voiced his opposition against violence. The public notice shows a prohibition sign on top of the character for violence. Keywords like love, inclusiveness, Rule of Law, love China and love Hong Kong were displayed on the advertisement.

On Wednesday, several companies mainly from the real-estate sector, including Sun Hung Kai Properties, Henderson Land Development, Swire, Sino Group, and New World Development published similar ads, calling for an end to the ongoing violence.

Cheung Kong Holdings, for example, released a statement reading "contain the violence, expect rational debates and rebuild a harmonious society".

Hong Kong Special Administrative Region made a statement earlier this month that Hong Kong's economy has suffered from external unfavorable factors and social unrest. The local economy is at its worst level in 10 years.
