Special: Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations

(ECNS) -- A total of 7,000 tickets are available for parades and food festival from May 16 to 22 in Beijing held in celebration of the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations.

People can make online reservations to join invited guests at the events, said Du Feijin, head of the publicity department of the CPC Beijing Committee.

A series of measures will be rolled out to help the public better understand Asian civilization, cultural exchanges and friendship among peoples in events that combine culture, food and technology, it was added.

The civilization-themed parade will be held twice a day at 10 am and 4 pm at Beijing Olympic Park, which can accommodate 13,000 visitors. Organizers have invited 28 well-known performance teams from home and abroad to participate in the parade.

The food festival will have 14 events and include more than 200 famous Chinese and foreign food brands at six major shopping malls across Beijing.

Visitors can enjoy typical cuisines from countries including Thailand and Japan and gain an understanding of how the food industry is shaped by modern technology as it gets more intelligent.

Over a million people are expected to join the food festival.

More than 2,000 government officials and representatives from various circles in 47 Asian and other countries will attend the opening ceremony and forums held during the conference.
