Documentary on Xinjiang's first blind football team screens at Silk Road film festival

(ECNS) -- Voy Boys, a documentary following Xinjiang's first blind football team, was screened Monday at the 13th Silk Road International Film Festival in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province.

Produced by Tianshan Film Studio, the film follows visually impaired students from a special education school in Shache County, Kashgar, as they build a blind football team and compete nationally.

Directors Li Zhiwei and Liu Xiaoran said the film focuses on the boys’ everyday emotions and persistence rather than portraying them as heroic figures. 

 

The documentary has been shortlisted for the Golden Silk Road Award competition at the festival.
