(ECNS) -- Seventeen schools in Guizhou Province signed partnership agreements Sunday with 17 Malaysian schools during the 2026 Guizhou–Malaysia Friendship Schools and Exchange Programme at Guiyang No. 3 High School.

The initiative aims to deepen educational cooperation, build longterm platforms for teaching discussions, teacher and student exchanges, and cultural interaction, and promote closer ties among young people from both sides.

Ye Sen, director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Division of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education, said the partnerships would provide a long-term platform for teaching discussions, teacher and student exchanges, and cultural interaction.

Zheng Shufen, principal of Fairview International School in Malaysia, said she hoped the exchange would grow into long-term cooperation, adding that education could connect the two countries and create a better future.

Organizers said the partnerships are expected to support coordinated regional education development.
