(ECNS)-- Xiangxi in Hunan Province is seeing a surge in international visitors as destinations such as Zhangjiajie and Furong Town gain global popularity.
Boosted by China’s transit visafree policies, Zhangjiajie welcomed more than 860,000 inbound tourists from 195 countries between January and July, with arrivals from Western nations up 211%. To accommodate demand, the city has introduced multilingual signage and folklore performances with subtitles. “These services make cultural immersion seamless,” said Pablo, a visitor from Spain.
Nearby Furong Town, once povertystricken, has become a showcase of rural revitalization. Its waterfalls and stilt houses have gone viral on social media, while operators emphasize preserving traditional lifestyles to offer authentic experiences. Smart translation tools and night scenery have further enhanced its appeal.
As hotpot culture and Chinese heritage gain traction worldwide, Xiangxi is positioning itself as a premier destination on the global travel map.
