A group of sea lions hung out at Pier 39 in San Francisco, California on Monday.

On Oct. 17, 1989, an earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale, hit the San Francisco Bay Area. Subsequently, a batch of sea lions gathered at Pier 39 and settled down, up to more than 1,700. The local management department specially laid a wooden rest platform floating on the water for them.

These sea lions have become a sight to behold at San Francisco's Pier 39, attracting flocks of tourists.
