(ECNS) -- China consistently opposes overstretching the concept of national security and politicizing tech and trade issues, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said on Tuesday.

Mao made the remarks in response to a question about the U.S. government's ban on the use of AI tools developed by Chinese firm DeepSeek, citing multiple potential risks, including the possible transfer of sensitive data to China.

"We will resolutely safeguard Chinese businesses' lawful rights and interests," Mao said.
