(ECNS)--- Construction on the Guangzhou-Foshan West Intercity Railway reached a major milestone Tuesday as crews began laying continuous long rails, moving the project into its track installation phase following the completion of all tunneling and bridge structures.
The 47-kilometer (29-mile) line features nine stations—including seven new builds—spanning Foshan's Nanhai District and Guangzhou's Huadu and Baiyun districts.
Engineers face complex site conditions as the track crosses multiple bridges, tunnels, and active urban intersections across three municipal districts.
To maintain track precision and meet strict safety parameters, contractors are using green construction equipment, including battery-powered mobile flash-butt rail welders and zero-emission rail saws.
Digital management is handled via intelligent cloud control platforms that manage dispatch schedules and deliver real-time safety alerts.
