Value of China's new offshore engineering equipment orders surges 160.8% in first 8 months

(ECNS) -- The value of new orders for offshore engineering equipment in China surged 160.8% year on year in the first eight months of 2026, according to an official from the Ministry of Natural Resources. 

Liu Guohong, secretary of the leading Party members group of the Ministry of Natural Resources and national chief inspector of natural resources, made the remarks on Tuesday at a State Council Information Office press conference in Beijing.

The volume of new orders for marine vessels also rose 83.7% year on year during the period, according to Liu.
