(ECNS) -- China Southern Airlines marked the second anniversary of its commercial operation of the C919 on Saturday, having safely transported more than 2.13 million passengers over the past two years.
Since receiving its first C919, the airline has expanded its fleet to 12 aircraft and grown operations from a single base in Guangzhou to dual bases in Guangzhou and Changsha. Destinations served have increased from four to 17, including Nanjing, Wenzhou, Hefei, Qingdao and Shenyang. The network now stretches from Shenyang in the north to Sanya in the south, Shanghai in the east and Chengdu in the west.
The fleet has completed more than 15,000 flights and logged over 35,000 hours of safe operations.
Over the past two years, China Southern has also built an experienced C919 flight crew and a dedicated operations team, while refining crew scheduling, aircraft maintenance and route planning to ensure safe and efficient service.
