(ECNS) -- The World Organization for Science Literacy was officially launched in Beijing on Sunday.
The international science and technology organization was established with the support of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST). It was registered in Beijing in June, building on the resources and international partnership networks developed through the World Conference on Science Literacy over the years.
The organization currently has 32 founding member institutions from 21 countries across Asia, Europe, South America, Africa and Oceania.
It aims to improve public scientific literacy and promote the development of a more inclusive society in which advances in intelligent technologies benefit people more widely, according to the organization.
