(ECNS) -- Pum Chantinie, secretary-general of the Cambodian Red Cross, on Wednesday handed over a $100,000 donation to Wang Wenbin, Chinese ambassador to Cambodia, to support the Red Cross Society of China's relief efforts following a mudslide at Gyirong Port in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region and floods in southeastern coastal areas.
It was the second time this year the Cambodian Red Cross has provided financial assistance for China's humanitarian relief efforts. On Aug. 6, it donated $100,000 to support China's response to natural disasters in southern regions.
Wang expressed appreciation for the two donations, saying mutual assistance vividly reflects the strong friendship between China and Cambodia. He noted that China is ready to work with Cambodia to respond to natural disasters and enhance the well-being of both peoples.
