The 2nd Bangkok Chinese Character Art Festival deepens China-Thailand cultural connections

(ECNS) -- The 2nd Bangkok Chinese Character Art Festival opened at Chulalongkorn University on Tuesday, bringing together artists, scholars, and youth from both China and Thailand for a five-day celebration of cultural exchange.

Featuring more than 60 joint artworks, the exhibition seamlessly blends the powerful strokes of traditional Chinese calligraphy with vibrant Thai artistic styles. Representatives from both nations praised the event for highlighting mutual learning and the enduring friendship between the two countries.

To foster long-term engagement, the festival launched a program to facilitate in-depth artistic exchanges between bilateral artists through 30-to-90-day local creation sessions, joint seminars and public art workshops. A youth cultural camp will offer Thai students opportunities to experience traditional Chinese heritage, including the craftsmanship of Hu brush (a traditional Chinese ink brush made in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province) and calligraphy.

Organizers said they will plan to integrate art, aesthetic education, and AI digital technologies to create an innovative cultural sharing model across Southeast Asia.
