(ECNS) -- China is preparing a third batch of emergency aid for Nepal after the mudslide disaster on Aug. 26, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Wednesday.
At a regular press briefing in Beijing, Guo said the second batch of Chinese supplies arrived in Kathmandu Tuesday afternoon, accompanied by five DNA identification experts.
The upcoming shipment will include Bailey bridges, refrigerated mortuary cabinets, epidemic prevention supplies and emergency communications equipment, along with another team of DNA specialists.
Guo said China has maintained close communication with foreign embassies to assist in identifying missing people and handling follow-up matters. Stranded residents and pilgrims are leaving Nepal in an orderly manner through land and air checkpoints.
He added that China attaches great importance to the safety of its citizens and institutions in Nepal and will continue working with Nepal to search for missing Chinese nationals.
