(ECNS) -- Gansu Province has seen steady growth in exports of fresh apples and processed apple juice in the first seven months of 2026, bolstered by a dual-track development strategy covering fresh agricultural products and high-value processed goods.
According to local customs authorities, from January to July, the province’s fresh apple exports reached 320 million yuan (approximately $45 million), representing a 12.1 percent year-on-year increase, with key markets including Southeast Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
Meanwhile, exports of apple juice jumped 13.6% to 280 million yuan, serving more than 50 countries and regions across North America, the European Union and RCEP member states. Major production bases in Tianshui and Longnan accounted for over 80 percent of the province’s total apple juice export volume.
To facilitate the efficient customs clearance of perishable agricultural goods, Lanzhou Customs has launched dedicated green channels and adopted digital inspection systems to shorten processing times. The customs authority has also provided targeted regulatory and compliance guidance for local food processing enterprises, helping them meet international technical standards and effectively defuse cross-border trade risks.
The effort aligns with regional initiatives to deepen agricultural processing and enhance supply chain resilience under the Belt and Road Initiative.
