North China's first trial 'cruise to nowhere' departs Tianjin with over 2,700 passengers

(ECNS) -- Cruise ship VISIO carrying over 2,700 passengers left the Port of Tianjin in North China's Tianjin for a three-day, two-night cruises-to-nowhere voyage from Saturday to early Monday, according to immigration authorities at the Port of Tianjin on Sunday.

The cruise ship will sail to waters 24 nautical miles from China’s territorial sea baseline and then return to Tianjin. A second trial sailing is scheduled for Monday, authorities.said.

Onboard facilities include dining, performances, family entertainment and wellness services. Foreign passengers may board with valid passports under the route’s travel requirements.

Saturday’s sailing set a single-day passenger record for 2026 at Tianjin International Cruise Home Port.
