(ECNS) -- Ningxia has adopted China's new “batch-based inspection (quarantine)” model for agricultural food exports, with the first shipment of broccoli bound for Malaysia cleared by Zhongwei Customs, Yinchuan Customs said Wednesday.
The mechanism, introduced by the General Administration of Customs, shifts supervision from traditional export lot oversight to production lot management.
After the first batch passes full inspection and testing, subsequent shipments from the same unit can be released directly if no risks are detected, cutting clearance times and reducing costs.
Officials said the pilot addresses the region’s stable, frequent vegetable exports to fixed partners. Fresh broccoli, Chinese kale and apples have been included in the trial. The model is expected to improve efficiency while maintaining strict quality standards.
From January to July, Zhongwei exported 160 million yuan ($23.6 million) worth of fresh vegetables, 56 million yuan of wolfberries and 167 million yuan of frozen potato strips, reflecting steady growth in Ningxia’s specialty farm food trade.
