Beijing’s first Ferris wheel, also the only one currently in operation, has been witness to many romantic gestures, including marriage proposals, an employee says. Built in 1986, it has been in use for 29 years and carried 9 million tourists, without a single accident. Once stopped, it will remain at its current location as a tourist sight.
