'Palace Lantern village' ready for New Year(1/9)

Villagers make palace lanterns at Tuntou village in Gaocheng, North China’s Hebei province, Feb 2, 2015. Palace lanterns fueled the local economy during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Now, there are more than 1,100 companies involved in the production of palace lanterns in Gaocheng, accounting for 80 percent of the China’s palace lanterns market and with an annual output value of 1 billion yuan ($160 million).
