The pagoda, also known as Zhongle Pagoda, was built in Song Dynasty (960 -1279) and renovated in Ming Dynasty (1368–1644).Although it was listed as a cultural relic site under the state protection in 1971, the structure has become dilapidated due to a lack of maintenance and also poses safety threats.[Photo: China News Service/Wang Zirui]
