Restoration for sculpture of Qianshou Guanyin to be completed(1/6)

A staff member works during a restoration for a sculpture of Qianshou Guanyin (bodhisattva with a thousand hands) on Mount Baoding in Dazu district of Chongqing municipality on November 24, 2014. The sculpture, carved in the cave with 7.7 meters high and 12.5 meters wide, could date back to Southern Song Dynasty (1127 to 1279). Over the centuries, the sculpture's color has faded, parts of the gold foil covering have peeled off, and cracks have appeared.
