The first photo that the Philae probe sent back after it separated from the Rosetta space probe. ESA (European Space Agency) has confirmed that the Philae probe landed on the surface of a comet named Churyumov-Gerasimenko on the evening of Nov 12, 2014. This is the first controlled landing of a spacecraft on a comet in history. From the photos taken from high altitude, the comet in irregular shape looks like a rubber duck. After landing on the comet, 10 experimental apparatus of the Philae will carry out analysis of soil and magnetic field there. Scientists will have a deeper understanding of the comet that was formed in the earliest years of the solar system, helping them with further research of the human origin. [Photo/ Agencies]
