Trees, uprooted and dead, are seen placed on one side of a road in the Jianye district of Nanjing, Jiangsu province on September 9, 2014. As an effort to make the city shine for the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games, these trees were planted before the opening of the event in August. Roadside trees near the Olympic Village in Jianye district all withered up after the sporting event. Local garden workers said counter-season planting was the major reason behind the death of those trees. [Photo/ IC]
