PLA Navy’s spokeswoman makes official debut(1/2)

Xing Guangmei, the only spokeswoman of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) navy makes her official debut at a press conference held on the navy’s No.88 Ship, which is at anchor in Weihai, Shandong province on August 26, 2014. The press conference was held in preparation for a forthcoming memorial ceremony at sea to mark the 120th anniversary of the outbreak of the First Sino-Japanese War, commonly known in China as the Jiawu War. Jiawu refers to the year 1894, as named under the traditional sexagenary system of years. China's traditional calendar follows a sixty-year cycle.
