Qinghai-Tibet Plateau glaciers shrink 15 pct in 30 yrs (1/6)

Photo taken on April 20, 2014 shows the shrinking Karuola glacier, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. According to the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), glaciers on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and surrounding areas have shrunk by 15 percent from 53,000 to 45,000 square kilometers over the past three decades.
