Five Japanese lawyers and ten of their Chinese counterparts held a hearing on Monday and Tuesday in Harbin and talked with 12 victims of chemical weapons abandoned by Japanese invaders, notably by Unit 731, a chemical and biological warfare research troop of the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. The lawyers hope evidences could be collected to assist the victims in their court appeals. (Xinhua/Wang Song)
