Residents relocated for water pipeline replacement in Lanzhou (1/6)

People move furniture and daily necessities to make way for a water pipeline replacement project in Lanzhou of northwest China's Gansu province on April 15, 2014. More than 90 households are relocated to improve the efficiency of reconstruction after a water pollution incident. Local government has allocated new apartments and compensation of cashes to those agree to relocate. Reconstruction work is expected to start in late April and end in mid May. Excessive levels of benzene were reported in Lanzhou's tap water on April 11, 2014. The tap water contamination affected more than 2.4 million people in Lanzhou. [Photo/Yang Yanmin]
