A vessel sails on the main channel of the Xiangjiang River in Changsha, capital of central China's Hubei Province, March 10, 2014. The Xiangjiang River is a major water source for Hunan and runs 856 kilometers across the province into China's second-largest freshwater lake, the Dongting Lake. Due to lingering rainfall, the Xiangjiang water level has kept rising to 28.47 meters by March 10 morning, higher than the designed level of 26.35 meters for the kiloton ships. The water level here is expected to ascend as the Three Gorges water will be injected into the Dongting Lake. (Xinhua/Long Hongtao)
